After completing a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, Dr. Walters earned his medical degree at the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his general surgery residency at Maricopa Medical Center.

He then completed a surgical fellowship in Advanced Gastrointestinal and Minimally Invasive Surgery at George Washington University Hospital and the VA Medical Center in Washington DC where he received additional training in advanced laparoscopic and robotic procedures of the esophagus, stomach, pancreas, colon, and abdominal wall and performed numerous minimally invasive procedures including hernia repairs, advanced endoscopy, and oncologic operations to remove cancers.

Following training, Dr. Walters has been a member of two private practices including the Center for Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery (CMIRS) in Peoria, Arizona, along with Brian Prebil, DO. His full-spectrum general surgery practice focuses on EGD/colonoscopy, hernia repairs, anti-reflux procedures, and colorectal surgery.

“From relatively simple to complex, I enjoy absolutely all aspects of general surgery,” said Dr. Walters. “I’m honored when physicians send me complex cases such as hernias considered too difficult to fix. I’m even more delighted when I hear from patients when they leave the hospital or their follow up visit and tell me that their experience was so much less stressful than they’d anticipated.”

Dr. Walters and his wife have three children. He enjoys playing golf, attending sporting events, and coaching his kids’ athletics.
